ACCELERATED GROWTH GENOPHAGE (BATCH 23.5C) APPLIED: 7-14-3
CONSCIOUSNESS ACHIEVED: 8-27-3
OBSERVATION: 10-16-3 (AGE ESTIMATION: 10 MONTHS)
-Albrecht has had his first contact with the dilated world in AR. I spent the better part of a real-time day observing him, and he seems to be on track with most learning goals. He shows some of the same anti-social behavior as the other Futuras. With the BX series, we’re going to try [INFORMATION REDACTED] as well as psychosurgery at an earlier age. I am eager to see the results, and hopeful that things can be different.
CUDDLY ISSUED: 11-5-3 (WOJTEK 2.2)
OBSERVATION: 11-6-3 (AGE ESTIMATION: 1.2 YEARS)
-It has been less than a day, and already Albrecht is responding well to his Cuddly. As discussed with the rest of the board, we are delaying introduction to the other Futuras, relative to [INFORMATION REDACTED].

BEHAVIORAL REGRESSION THERAPY: 11-12-3
BEHAVIORAL REGRESSION THERAPY: 12-10-3

BEHAVIORAL MODIFICATION NANOPHAGICAL PROCESS COMPLETED: 1-10-4
[ENTRY REDACTED: SENSITIVE INFORMATION]
OBSERVATION: 1-15-4 (ESTIMATED AGE: 2.6 YEARS)
-Albrecht seems to have taken very well to the therapy regimen. His anti-social behaviors and incidences of violence when acting out have been reduced significantly. It is my estimation he is fit for socialization with the others as long as [INFORMATION REDACTED]. So it goes without saying that Albrecht and the other BX series Futuras will be put in a low-risk AR environ.
WATTS-MCLEOD TEST CONDUCTED: 1-29-4
-RESULT: POSITIVE
-This is not a surprise. I am starting to think the Watts-Mcleod strain is built into the accelerated growth nanophage and may indeed help structure it. I am with Feinstein, we should cease all attempts to ‘cure’ the WM strain and instead begin teaching Futuras how to deal with [INFORMATION REDACTED]. Hell, I’m not entirely sure we’re not looking at a leap in cognitive evolution and the WM strain is just a false flag. [BEGIN MASS DATA REDACTION]
[REDACTION NOTE: With the negative attention the Futura program has gotten recently, it is Acceleron Human Services’ policy to protect the privacy of Futuras by censoring all childhood activity, from estimated age 3 up until ‘adulthood’. This is not only to protect the privacy of the subject, but to protect Acceleron Human Services from future liabilities that may result from the Futura program. Thank you for your understanding, and if you require more information about our censorship policies, please file a Censorship Information and Explanation 122-Alpha form with Judicorps. Please note that this requires you to have previously filed a Order of Information Request 66-Crimson form, as well as retain Level 17 Non-Disclosure Contract Status with both Judicorps and Acceleron Human Services. Further information on filing these forms can be requested from {nomic.forms@judicorps.nyse}]

-FUTURA MORPH v2.8c
-SERIAL #1437B
LIVING ASSIGNMENTS ARRANGED: 7-12-6
-HOFFEN SETTLEMENT, VAT CITY, NYSE 44
OBSERVATION: 7-14-6
-Albrecht seems to get along well outside of AR. Like the rest of the BX group, the mental conditioning seems to lessen the [INFORMATION REDACTED] but while friendly, he still keeps most people at arm’s length. I find it interesting that whereas other BX Futuras rejected taking on their Cuddly as a Muse, Albrecht seems to take this as a point of pride. I think more research into these particular models of Cuddly (Wojtek 2.2) is merited. It seems well-suited for adaptation to normal life.

FIRST WATTS-MCLEOD ACTIVITY REPORTED: 7-20-6
-Albrecht reported that he made skin-to-skin contact with another Futura after being cornered during a disagreement, and was apparently able to initiate two-way contact with the other individual regarding a ‘battle-plan’. I am pleased to report that the two young men did not end up murdering any of the three who accosted them. The two were accosted by [INFORMATION REDACTED]. The attackers are currently in the healing vats suffering from broken bones and torn ligaments. Once again, the BX series prove to be an improvement on the Futura program as a whole. This is very exciting.

OBSERVATION: 7-25-6
-Adamski asked me to take a look at 1437BX and determine what it is that is making him so hungry all the time. Best I can tell, there’s a switch in his DNA that got flipped, but it’s tied to a cancer-resistance gene. I’m afraid he’s just going to have to be fed more than the others, or else be far less resistant to certain forms of cancer. Who knows how it happened, but I’ve found similar flaws in a lot of the other Futura morphs we’ve designed here. I know you guys expect us to churn these things out with cookie-cutter DNA, but the fact of the matter is we’re working with different genetic code in every batch, and even then, the DNA isn’t safe from outside influences. -Of course, they talk about our failures, but they don’t talk about the BX series at all. Typical yellow journalism.

RELEVANT NEWS ITEM: 10-1-6
-Acceleron Human Services Under Investigation By SafeNyse, Inc {EXTROPIA NOW}
RELEVANT MEMORANDUM: 10-2-6
-Johnson in Memetics has pointed out a dangerous trend with the growing attention on the Futura program. Gilberto’s actions, though they ended in his termination and the deletion of his backups, have begun to skew the public’s view of the Futuras in a decidedly negative direction, at least here on Extropia. The Futura program hasn’t met with an overwhelming amount of love anywhere, recently, but a high-profile crime like Gilberto’s here on Extropia is really driving a lot of the backlash. Johnson predicts we’ll be seeing more than just the cursory investigation SafeNyse is giving us pretty soon. Might I remind you, Johnson is very talented at what he does, so I would recommend a contingency plan for the rest of the Futuras here at Hoffen.
RELEVANT NEWS ITEM: 10-7-6
-Evidence of Violent Tendencies Common Among Futuras, says SafeNyse {EXTROPIA NOW}
OBSERVATION: 10-9-6
-Albrecht has confided in me, during one of our one-on-one counseling sessions, that while he feels no urge to kill outright, the thought of him killing in self-defense does not bother him at all. I wouldn’t call that a failure, it shows a strong sense of preservation, as long as he doesn’t go around picking fights. Lord knows what kind of trouble waits around the corner after Extropia Now gets through with us.
RELEVANT CASE NOTE: [INSERTION INFORMATION REDACTED]
-On 10-21-6, the Hoffen settlement was overrun by SafeNyse operators in heavy combat gear, accompanied by large mobs of civilians and other security operators from around the asteroid. Contact was made with Nomis at Judicorps, who quickly read the relevant paperwork and informed Acceleron that their contract with SafeNyse was effectively void, since their investigation never turned up any hard evidence of wrong-doing. We’ve sent the relevant information to our top memetic analysts, trying to figure out what happened, but [INFORMATION REDACTED]. In any case, [INFORMATION REDACTED] and for approximately seven days, we were without security coverage. This accounts for the lack of information from this time. I am placing a case note here as an official excusal from all working on the Futura project on not reporting their findings during this period.

-Hoffen Settlement Signs with Eicken Security Services LLC, Begins Cleanup After Massacre {NYSE JOURNAL}
OBSERVATION: 11-15-6
-Another one-on-one session with Albrecht today. I informed him of his duties with Eicken, he seemed to fully understand why he was now being assigned to [INFORMATION REDACTED] for them. In fact, he was almost enthusiastic about the idea, telling me “Some people have to work themselves out of computers, at least I’ve got a body already.” He doesn’t seem perturbed by his ‘volunteering’ for the exchange program. This is fairly typical of the BX series Futuras.
[ENTRY REDACTED: REQUEST BY RESEARCHER {jpa@acceleron.rd.nyse}]
RELEVANT MEMORANDUM: 12-15-6
-Since the Futura program has been placed on indefinite hiatus pending an inquiry by Eicken LLC to determine whether the program presents a liability to our security contract, and following the events this past October, the research brass have decided to shut down the Hoffen settlement. The early series Futuras have expressed resentment at having to stay in a place where [INFORMATION REDACTED] and personally, I don’t blame them. Eicken has chosen a number of volunteers to indenture, and is contractually obligated to protect those they have not, but it is up to us to ensure the Futuras find comfort in the ‘real’ world. You’ve all been working with several individuals up to this point, and you will continue to do so with the assistance of an Eicken profiler. Their case files will continue to be updated, and we will continue to keep tabs on them as best we can. Please report immediately if [INFORMATION REDACTED] so we can prevent another incident like Gilberto. For further information, contact me at {awfg@acceleron.rd.nyse}.
OBSERVATION: 12-28-6
-Albrecht now has his own residence at [INFORMATION REDACTED]. His assigned Eicken handler is Alexandr Mikulik, a recovery specialist. Eicken has also assigned a profiler, [INFORMATION REDACTED], who will accompany me during interviews with Albrecht.
JOB ASSIGNMENT: 12-28-6
-Company: Eicken Security Services, LLC
-Department: Ego Recovery Division
-Position: Ego Recovery Specialist, Indentured Status
[ENTRY REDACTED: REQUEST BY RESEARCHER {jpa@acceleron.rd.nyse}]
OBSERVATION: 4-19-7
-Contractual obligations with Eicken prevent me from speaking in specifics, but Albrecht has apparently taken to his new job quite well. His coworkers have several names for him, bestowed upon him by his Czech-born handler, and he often goes by these as a handle on operations: Slidil (bloodhound) and Lovec (hunter). I am assured he is very good at his job, though I cannot put details in writing.

OBSERVATION: 5-27-7
-Albrecht has told me he wishes to remain in the security field as an independent contractor once his indenturement is completed, albeit as an independent contractor. He believes his employment with Eicken is the ‘invisible hand of fate’. I believe his love of solving crimes comes from a childhood spent watching ancient Earth ‘cartoons’.
OBSERVATION: 6-19-7
-On today’s visit, Albrecht informed me he was changing his name to better reflect his profession, and will indeed be legally known as ‘Slidil Lovec’.

RELEVANT DATA: 7-27-7 [COMMUNICATION FROM: {mikulika@eickenss.nyse}]
-RE: Albrecht AKA Lovec
-He is doing very well for himself here. My ego recovery rate has gone up 67% from this same time last year, which is well above the projected improvement from simply working with a partner. He is a quick learner, and quick to improvise when he isn’t trained for a given situation. I do not recommend [INFORMATION REDACTED].
[BEGIN MASS DATA REDACTION: RESEARCHER REQUEST {jpa@acceleron.rd.nyse}]
[REDACTION NOTE: We have two reasons for censoring the information regarding this period of Albrecht’s life. The first is that it contains sensitive operational information, for both Acceleron and for Eicken. The second is that much of this period isn’t scientifically relevant. Many of these entries are details from visits with Albrecht over the two years he was indentured to Eicken, making sure his mental health was stable (it was).
-That being said, I will leave a brief summary of his mental state during this time. Albrecht is a very talented investigator, although in the words of Mikulik, he was still learning. The only real problem that Mikulik or I had with Albrecht was that he sometimes seems disconnected. He doesn’t seem to connect that real life and the heavily-edited action XP he watches are completely different things. I believe this stems from growing up in a time-dilated environment where these XPs were the primary source of information he had about the real world. He often confuses actual events that happened with these XP, and has a tenative grasp of just about everything else that wasn’t taught to him via educational or entertainment XP in AR. These problems are ongoing in the recent contacts I’ve had with Albrecht, and we are working together to move past them. I hope he doesn’t do anything rash as a result of his skewed vision of the post-Fall world.
-Albrecht, like many other Futuras, does not seem without major disorders. I have noticed that, although he is outwardly friendly and seemingly well-adjusted, he harbors major suspicions about most of the people he knows. I assume he harbors similar suspicious thoughts about me, although he has not voiced them. His careful, distant approach to personal relationships leads me to believe he may lay somewhere on the paranoid delusional spectrum.
-Additionally, Albrecht seems to suffer from a large amount of nightmares, occasional panic attacks, and other symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. In today’s post-Fall world, this is becoming more and more common, and I’ve noticed a large amount of the Futuras experience this disorder as a result of their non-conventional upbringing. However, the Extropian Futuras seem to have suffered additional mental stress as a result of the Hoffen Settlement massacre.
-Perhaps most obviously, Albrecht shows symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. His living arrangements are always kept very clean, via the use of nanites, but he still insists on chemical disinfection of cooking surfaces, toilets, and other places where food or skin-to-apparatus contact is required. He will only eat food that is green in color, which, thanks to the maker units, is just about any food he desires. Though he suffers little detriment in his day-to-day activities because of his OCD, it is still present in significant amounts.
-Because of these disorders, and [INFORMATION REDACTED], I will continue to monitor Albrecht’s progress and condition for as long as possible, as much in interest to the man as to the Futura project.]

OBSERVATION: 1-17-10
-Albrecht has recently taken an assignment on Venus. He is traveling via shuttle, but has promised to stay in contact with me via farcast. In the mean time, I have upgraded Wojtek to act as an entity he can discuss any major issues with in the interim between now and our next visit. Lovec has advanced far enough in his development that I consider this measure to be cursory at best.
